The Thracians inhabited most of present-day Bulgaria during the 1st millennium BC. A less known fact is that much of the Greek mythology was based upon Thracian beliefs. Thracians have left an outstanding heritage and evidences could be seen all over the country. In the last couple of years many Thracian cultural objects were found. Among them is the Golden Mask, 682.5 gram of solid gold. It weights 5 times more than the mask of Agamemnon! The history of European wine-producing begins with Thracian wines. Probably they took over the knowledge from the people in Asia Minor, Ararat Mountains.
